Deuteronomy 16:18-20 - Judges and officers you are to appoint within all your gates that Adonai your God is giving you, according to your tribes; and they are to judge the people with righteous judgment. You are not to twist justice—you must not show partiality or take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and distorts the words of the righteous. Justice, justice you must pursue, so that you may live and possess the land that Adonai your God is giving you.
James/Jacob 2:8-13 - If, however, you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well. But if you show favoritism, you are committing sin and are convicted by the Torah as transgressors. For whoever keeps the whole Torah but stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. For the one who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the Torah. So speak and act as those who will be judged according to a Torah that gives freedom.
For judgment is merciless to the one who does not show mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Jacob/James 2:12-13 - So speak and act as those who will be judged according to a Torah that gives freedom. For judgment is merciless to the one who does not show mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Isaiah 52:1-2 - Awake, awake! Clothe yourself in your strength! Clothe yourself in beautiful garments, Jerusalem…Shake off the dust and arise! Jerusalem. Loose the bonds off your neck, oh captive daughter…
Isaiah 52:6-8 - Therefore My people will know My Name. Therefore in that day, I am the One who will be saying, ‘Hineni!’” How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces shalom, who brings good news of happiness, who announces salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” The voice of your watchmen— they will lift up their voices. Together they are shouting for joy! For they will see eye to eye when Adonai returns to Zion.
